  4. Three people completed all 13 legs in this one year! I believe they need a round of applause and special recognition. In the last group beach picture (above) they are from left to right. Dave Crew Kat Cornell Jason Cornell Brent Fletcher (on the right) has completed all the legs in one year before also. Possibly more than once. Brent will need to clarify that.

  17. Good Afternoon Boys N Girls, Don't want to step on any ones toes, but LOTS is happening behind the scenes to get this ride up and running, Hotel prices are way up from last year, (at least on the "West" legs, like by about 30% MINIMUM!), this of course creates a few issues for the leg captains, (of which I am one), to try to find hotels at an "affordable" cost, that are close to a restaurant for the evening meal and baton transfer ceremony, (meals have also seen about a 20% increase in cost), gas prices of course are about 50% more money than they were a year ago, why am I telling you this?, because a lot goes on behind the scenes to get the most bang for your buck on many fronts, ALSO, hotels are not real interested in blocking out "discounted" rooms for us, when they can sell every room they have at the crazy high prices they want!!! It's going to be another great event, you have seen the dates that the V2V comes closest to you, I highly recommend you make a commitment of both funds and time to attend a couple of legs, you can cut the cost of your hotel room in half by sharing a room with your buddy,,, watch out though,,,, there are known "spooner's" amongst us ?

  25. Leg 10 report Well, it didn't rain ALL night, 'cause it quit about 6:20 am.!! everyone gassed up, smiling and ready roll by 8:00am!!! these VMC family members are animals!!!! weather forecast is sunny, blue skies 0% chance of rain!!! (oh oh!) could be a little toasty as we get to the Salt Lake area! beautiful ride out of Craig, clear blue skies, nice cool air, everything vibrant color from the power wash from mother nature the night before,,, just spectacular. first stop about an hour out for potty break, and away we go, got some miles to knock down today and a lot of it is twisty and hilly, so lets keep moving kids, hey look at this,, looks like the rancher moved about 10 million cows from one field to another and used our road!!! literally HOLY CRAP!!!!, then a quick game of "why did the duck cross the road?", (didn't end so well for 1 baby duck ;-( next stop for a splash and go, and on our way to......wait my GPS just shut down,,,, and my accessory fuse blew out,,, dang it, LOST ALL MY DOWNLOADED MAPS, no big deal I can get us to lunch in Duchesne UT,,, if I could just remember the name of the restaurant!!!! and away we go!!!! :-{o) yahtzee!!! Cowans Cafe, quick phone call, let them know we will be there in about 20 minutes,,, then ride for 45 minutes to get there Ooopsy! Tony S walks outside after lunch and takes a picture of the worlds biggest storm cloud, (seems like I have never ridden with him when it HASN'T rained,,, jussayin!), OK kids show of hands, we can wait the storm out, we can try to outrun it or we can suit up, and take the escape route and head to the hotel.....rain suits on and follow that 70,000 lb gas truck UP the mountain!!!, finally,, a safe place to get everyone past the truck,, rains starting to let up,, hey the sun is comming out again,,,,man it's starting to get a little warm,,,really warm,,,like it's hot!! need to get this rain gear off!! heading down the hill into Price Utah, the temp was rising 1 deg every 1/10 of a mile!!!, sure hope we run out of hill pretty quick it's really starting to get hot!!!, just 5 miles to the hotel,,,and it's a 103f,,, who ever invented air conditioning,,, I wanna kiss that guy!

  26. Just a few more from 10-11 and 11-12. Took a new route on Leg 11 - pretty sure it was a success. Only nerve wracking point was getting hit by a dust devil. But we’re tough! Thank you again to everyone that joined this Leg. Met fantastic new people and spent time with old and cherished friends. We started the day with 7 Visions, 6 Cross Country’s, 1 Spyder and a truck. Picked up another Vision and Cross Country at lunch in Wendover. A total of 19 of us rolled into Ely NV around 2:30 (that time change got me!) and met up with Brent Fletcher. PS - have a bunch of other pics I tried to post but site is telling me they’re too big. Darn it!!

  27. It’s seems to me that the enthusiasm for , and during the V2V this year was more than could be expected. Vivian, Pushstart, puts so much is organizing and corresponding-many calls and spreadsheets- with the legcaptains. She gets much needed congrats! Every leg captain must plan the route, set up the hotels….keep 16-26 riders gassed up, and accounted for. Some of the captains had to explain that you can’t ALWAYS ride 40 Highway like they did 20 years ago! I don’t want to give these last three riders participation trophies for riding across the country. They deserve so much more. Let’s discuss this amazing accomplishment. I love this a club!

  37. Pure Freedom Victory Riders New Zealand is involved with this great event. This is a charity to help the Mission put food on the table for those people that find it difficult to put on at this time of the year and for kids who may miss out on toys. Last year I went on the ride in support paid my $20 NZ and got my event badge and put in 2 toys 1 for a girl other for a boy. This year I asked the members if they would like to support and my Canterbury Riders all said yes. I approached the Mission and asked if we could help out they said that they would be happy for us too but to catch up with the organizers witch I did after a good talk on the phone then a meeting they were happy for us to help out then 1 of the organizers said to me look would you and your group like to be in on this next year as one of the two organizers was moving away I said I would be happy to but would have to ask the group. Happy to say that they all stepped up to the plate and said yes so a our next club meeting it will be put in the minutes to make it official ? So proud to be a part of this charity event and the group ?. Thanks Kram (President)?

  38. You all are too kind. We at Sin City were blessed to have the opportunity to host this prestigious event. We strove to ensure we lived up to expectations, and any measure of success our event had is due in no small part to the efforts of those in our club, and those who showed up to make this event what is was. Thank You Everyone! #TheShirtOffMyBack
