  4. Post your tracking comments here, or try this new feature on Victory-Riders! The Victory-Riders site is a very nice complimentary site to theVMC.com... --------------------- Post from the Victory-Riders webmaster, Jedi Martini ------------ This year’s V2V will be tracked LIVE over the web! The Victory Riders Network (VRN) (victory-riders.com) is sponsoring a web page whereby everyone will be able to watch your progress on the ride in real time. The VRN has bought a GPS tracking device that will be stashed in the V2V Backpack and will transmit its location every 10 minutes. Victory will be advertising this on its VRA page as well. To make this 10th anniversary ride plan work requires your help. The batteries for the GPS device will last for at least a week but not quite 2 weeks. It will come with a spare set of batteries. I’m asking Spike to swap the batteries when he gets possession of the backpack since his leg is at the halfway point. It uses a specific type of AA batteries. For All Leg Captains: The device will shutoff automatically after about 18hrs. We need you to turn it back on every morning. It’s a very simple procedure but there are a couple steps. The device has several other cool features like emergency locate and location marking. The instructions for its operation will also be in the backpack. Please Read Them! The Victory Riders Network has also set up a page for riders to post comments from the road as well as upload photos to the site, all from their smart-phone, or for you real geeks, the laptop you put in your saddlebags. :-) or from hotel lobby computers. With these tools, VMCer’s and the world can get a running travelog from riders. The url for this webpage is: http: http://vrnetwork.ning.com/group/v2vx For those interested in posting comments from the road, use the email: blog@victory-riders.com To upload photos for all to see, use the email: v2v010@vrnetwork.ning.com You don’t have to be a member of the Victory Riders Network to add comments or photos. Have a great ride! “Jedi” Jeff Martini Victory-Riders.com

  7. I hate to do this folks, but I froze the original Leg 10, Castle Rock to Maybell poll, becasue we now have a new leg terminus, Craig, CO. So, Leg 10 goes from Castle Rock to Craig, CO. Please note your participation in this ride by "voting" in the poll. See the old Leg 10 poll for past posts, as I did not delete it. Karma, the leg captain for Leg 10, will be providing Craig, CO lodging information soon, so that will get posted as soon as it is available. Thanks, ...Ross
  8. There isn't any problem getting gas in Colorado. Make sure you have plenty of gas in Wyoming. The winds can kick up and suck all the gas mileage out of your bike, just like in Oklahoma :-) I'm not sure how much time you have, but you may want to adjust your route. Hwy 9 up to Hartsel is a nice road, but a better road is to stay on US 50 to Salida. Lots of twisties on 50 through the Big Horn Sheep Canyon. From Salida head to Buena Visa, then further up to Leadville. If you have time, before you get to Leadville, take Hwy 82 to the top of Independence Pass... From Leadville take Hwy 91 to I-70 just west of Frisco, go east on I-70 to Hwy 9 and north to US 40 (the old Victory Highway) and take Hwy 14 to Walden. From there continue on as you were. This route will give you a little better feel for Colorado. If you have more time, there there are other roads to discover... Have fun!
