  1. The dates are set! The location is known. Start making your plans and head to New York! Sure wish I could be joining but - darn that job anyway!!! For those that are going - just know I'm jealous. Happy to see the positive responses and wishing the Adriondack guys the best of luck. I know you'll rock the event!! Looking forward to pictures....... And watch out for that one guy from Florida - he carries a flip phone and knows how to use it.....I hear he'll be there! Then there's this guy from LHC......be still my .......
  2. Awwww....so sweet!! Nice to see the appreciation. Brought tears to my eyes. VMC peeps rock!!!!!
  3. At the end of the day - someone still needs to step up and submit a proposal to Chuck Miller and begin the planning. For those that aren't sure who he is - he's the chariman of the events committee. So all of you with hopes, wishes, dreams, wants, opinions.....put them into action and start planning the 2014 National Meet!!! (after you submit and get your prosposal approved)
  4. One of the reasons it rotates coasts/locations is to vary the distances and scenery. This gives most people the opportunity to attend at least every other or couple of years. I think that's part of the charm and the whole idea. I know that two years ago in Prescott we had riders from Massachusetts and one guy from England who was at this one again. At this year's event we had riders from all over the country (New York, Florida and many points in between). Not everyone can go every year. That is why we rotate and why there are other events throughout the year. Gives everyone the opportunity to pick and choose and have variety. JMHO
  5. Extra thanks to Bob & Sue, not only for the amazing Police Escort - but for getting me and my bike back to Boise from Lewiston! Even though I got sick, it was an amazing time!

  8. Awww....thanks Arnold!!! You rock! Hug your honey for me. As for me.....I'm waiting patiently. Would love to say I'll be able to make it to National in 2014 but work gets in the way so often.....sigh. But, I'll happily support the plan when it arrives. :)
  9. Kevin, keep in mind, the National Meet is: An Annual VMC Rally sponsored by a region. To do this, one simply needs to put a formal proposal together and submit it for approval. Therefore, all you need to do is put your ideas in writing and submit them via the proper channels. Judging by the two Meets I've attended, it should include setting up lodging, banquet(s), breakfast meals, bike rodeo, t-shirts, pins, registration, local ride planning (group or self led), gathering sponsors and probably a bunch of other things I'm forgetting. I recommend you check with former hosts as they'll be able to share with you some of the things they've done and how they've managed to accomplish all of it. Good luck!
  10. A huge thanks to Rob, Dann, my fellow Leg and Ride Captains and Co-Captains and most especially the participants!!!! Next year I"m aiming for Legs 1, 2 & 3. :)
  11. Thanks for the memories Redd. Will post up mine when I get home. Hugs!!!
  12. All I can say is - you guys are sure riding 'Fishy' style! Am sure she's watching it all from Heaven and laughing her butt off. Shhhh - if you listen quietly - you can hear her!
  13. Sitting here wondering if it's ok to laugh.....but my stupid hormones are making tears. Age!!!! So glad Brent is ok. Glad SPOT will at least make it to SanFran. It's not like anyone 'meets up with us' going across Nevada....it is THE LONLIEST HIGHWAY!!!!!!!!!! Well, ok, one guy from Reno was possibly going to meet us in Austin for lunch....hopefully he's able to work things out. Thanks for the story. I'll be sure to share it on both ends of my leg in case anyone has missed it. Would hate for that trip to remain secret. LOL Hugs to all!!!!
  14. Great pictures! I see Brent made it to the East....now on way to West. Hi Brent!!!! :)
  15. Spot was waiting for me in Carson. Turned him on just to 'restart' the 'tracking. He's back off and will make sure he's with 5th Gear and on tomorrow.
  16. Syd's all packed and ready to go!!! Tigger too!!! Heading out in about 90 minutes.....tic.....tic.....tic......tic....................
  17. I'd like one too please! Thanks Redd!
  18. Ann - couldn't have done it by myself. Big thanks to you, Jayne, Brad & Jeff as well ad those that shared their input and suggestions. I only hope it is as special as she was to all of us.
  19. For those joining us at National and wanting to say their farewells to Sydney - with the help of Ann, Jayne and Brad, we've chosen an area across the river from the hotel, about 2.5 miles, where the Clearwater meets the Snake river (Brad called it the confluence - such a big word for me!). We'll meet at the confluence at 8:30am on Saturday so that everyone joining either of the two group rides will have plenty of time to get back for the pre-ride briefs. Jayne is adding the remembrance to the schedule and I'll ask Brad to put together a map/directions as part of the registration packet. I welcome anyone who wishes to say something to reach out to me via PM or Email. Thank you in advance.
  20. First - I'd like to thank everyone for their support in this plan. Was a bit nervous hatching it. Sydney was always such a force of nature and so well loved. I almost felt presumptious making plans for her. Now, I feel it is the right thing. Second - Can I get some names of those from Prescott Valley that plan on being in Ely on the 30th? I know John is going, as is Tom. Ron and I, as well as one or two others from Vegas and possibly Kingman, will be there as well. Also - if you haven't already seen the post in the SW Forum (National in Lewiston - travel plans) outlining our travel dates/stops. Randy Loosle (UTJackpot) has made arrangements for discount rated rooms for Wednesday night in Boise. Then we're all heading to Lewiston as a group. Hopefully all together and including you guys. I'm dragging my bike as far as Boise (I have a bad back and neck so no picking on me!) then will drop the truck/trailer and ride in with everyone else. If anyone wants to load anything in the truck (Explorer or Edge - we aren't sure which we'll take yet) let me know. The trailer will take two bikes and if someone's tired of riding, we can work out trading out. It WILL be hot. I'll also have the truck stocked with ice and beverages. Will ensure there's enough for all. Therefore - need the head count. PM or email me if you don't want to post public. See ya'll soon!
