  1. Ole' Ole' is not open, but the Grill is. where ever you folks plan the feast Wendy and I would love to join up.
  2. where is the Dinner? I'll go check but Ole Ole has been closed due to covid. last month we checked and looked like maybe repainting inside. Gold Dust West does have a coffee style restaurant.
  3. good luck, there is a lot of road construction going on up at South Lake Tahoe on highway 50 through town and even out in Myers on the way out of the Tahoe Basin
  4. hope to see you all at dinner. I parked my ride until I get my knee's fixed
  5. Wendy and I plan on joining in but will leave Dayton on the morning of and head east to meet up and ride back to Carson City for dinner/drinks. My knee's will not allow me to ride any real distance anymore so I get what wind I can whenever
  6. Hwy 50 East of Carson City is the most desolate road you ever want to see for about 300 miles is a lot of nothing. I think there are 4 or 5 little towns along the way. but I ride it
  7. Donna, what route you guy's taking to get to Carson. Wendy and I would like to ride down a ways and meet up. We do plan on dinner with the crew. Beers with Tom at the bar.
  8. see you folks somewhere around 5 - 5:30ish at the main bar. Be good to see some old friends for drinks & dinner. Surgeon even cleared me to ride today, WooHoo. but he did say to start off easy and don't push it too hard yet. I'm ridin' the KP to meet up for dinner tonight
  9. I don't believe I'll be in condition to ride yet but Wendy & I will probably meet up for dinner and cocktails. the Restaurant Ole' Ole' has a pretty good menu and one of the places we like to have dinner.
  10. I prefer having a place I can trust to work on my ride IF it breaks along the way. without a network of dealers that care to work on it I wouldn't chance it anymore. just me
  11. also, I don't think there is a leg captain for this leg, yet. that's why nothing has been set up.
  12. in the past the hotel has been the Hotel Nevada https://www.hotelnevada.com/ and the Jailhouse across the street. the Hotel Nevada has a downstairs dinning room that can handle everyone and a night watchman who keeps an eye on our rides parked right outside along the main drag. great place for an after ride refreshment admiring each others bikes. And the best part is nobody has to travel once there. except for fueling up they have it all. I have booked it a few times in the past as had others from southern Nevada but Wendy & I have other plans this year that conflict. I/we have always had a great time here .
  13. this post needs to be moved to the proper area
  14. :y: I had forgotten about that jar of sand
  15. I went ahead and made my resies in Ely at the Hotel Nevada. Glad I did. all they can do for the 2nd of July is over nighters like us but the rooms are getting slim pickins. Wendy and I had to settle for a smoking suite with King sized bed. Rates went up a little too
  16. Has anyone made the arrangements in Ely yet? Rooms? Dinner?
  17. Sorry folks but I will be unable to meet up in Ely on Thursday and lead the group back to Carson City Friday. I seem to have an infection where I recently had surgery and I ain't riding across the desert in that condition. Wendy & I should be able to meet up for the hand off dinner at the Carson Station Friday night at 7pm. :chpr I certainly hope someone will step up to take the Baton from Ely to Carson City. :chpr
  18. I can lead the group in from Ely to Carson. I already got rooms & dinner set up at this end. We already have reservations in Ely as well I don't think anyone else from our LC can get time off for this years V2V so there doesn't seem to be a co-captain
  19. the rates are for all, be sure to mention victory as that is the file we are under
  20. I signed for the rooms yesterday, when calling mention "Victory" that is the file our block of rooms are being held half Kings and half Queens and I believe the queen are doubles reserved block goes away June 26 so get your resies early address is 900 S. Carson st. right on the main drag and right down the street from the Capitol grounds there is also a Great bar across the street called Redds, they boast 101 different beers. toll free # is 800 501-2929 or local is 775 883-0900 web site http://www.carsonstation.com
  21. I reserved 20 rooms at the Carson Station and the dinning room we had dinner in last year as well. dinner at 7pm I should have final details later this afternoon or tomorrow. looks like the room split will be half kings and half queens and the reserved status will go away Friday June 27th Hotel just called and rates are the same for either rooms $89.00 + tax I'll go in tomorrow and sign the contract :chpr :chpr see ya in July :chpr :chpr
  22. Gold Dust West wants a 2 night minimum over the holiday. if you guys want to stay in Carson City it looks like the Carson Station again like last year. Maybe a block of rooms in Reno? I know the Dealer would like to see us in the morning on the way out to San Fran. any thoughts????
