  1. Looks like our best bet for dinner at the Gold Dust West Casino/Hotel is the Ole' Ole' Grill. I'm waiting for a call back from them to set the time etc. If anyone knows of a better restaurant within walking/stumbling distance please speak up. The other suggestion I got from the Hotel is a WAYS from the hotel... Unless something changes we'll be looking at 6:30 for dinner and the baton passing at the Ole' Ole' Grill... 8)
  2. When you make your reservations at Gold Dust Casino / Hotel make sure you call (877) 519-5567 or local (775) 885-9000. Mention you are with the Victory Motorcycle Club in order to get the discount. Don't ask me how I know this..... 8)
  3. Room block has been reserved for us under the "Victory Motorcycle Club" at the Gold Dust West Casino Hotel for July 3rd. I have reserved a block of 8 rooms at the discounted rate of $80.00 + taxes etc.... I figure we'll depart Hotel Nevada around 9:00 or 9:30, stop somewhere on US 50 for lunch which should put us in Carson City by 4 PM at the latest, just in time for a cold adult beverage or 2 or 3 or 4 or....... Once I have a good head count I'll set up the evening festivities/meal/baton passing/etc. 8) In the mean time if you are planning to ride this leg make SURE you are registered at eventzilla AND update the poll at the top of this thread... Let the booking of rooms begin.... To book your room via telephone: (1) Call toll free at (877) 519-5567 or local (775) 885-9000 & press 1 for reservations (2) Ask for the Victory Motorcycle Club room block & have your credit card information available to give the reservationist. You'll need to call (no web link) to reserve your room.
  4. Since Ed stepped up for leg 12 I'll take leg 13 (Ely to Carson City). I'm looking at options in Carson City, I'm leaning towards the Gold Dust West Casino but DO NOT make reservations yet as I'm working to see what kind of deal (if any) they will give us. As soon as I get the details and a decent head count I'll post a link right here. Stay tuned..... In the mean time if you are planning to ride this leg make SURE you are registered at eventzilla AND update the poll at the top of this thread... :chpr
  5. Thanks for the kind words Graham!! :y: She's a keeper and a trooper as well when it comes to riding her Can-Am!! V2V has become something we look forward to every year and with a little luck we'll be there next year and are considering starting in Frisco. :tu :chpr :tu Until next June...
  6. Here's a group pic from the ride from Park City to Ely... Don't recall the name of the mountain we rode up but it was a GREAT ride!!!!!!! :tu No doubt that Drake knows his roads there in Colorado!!!! Both Cleta and I want to thank everyone for their patience with her on the Can Am, that machine is not like our bikes, we just lean while she has to manhandle that thing around the curves... THANKS!!!!!!
  7. Cleta & I want to thank everyone for their patience with her on the Can Am, that machine is not like our bikes, we just lean while she has to manhandle that thing around the curves... THANKS!!! :tu
  8. Registration for the 2017 V2V is at Eventzilla: http://events.eventzilla.net/e/2017-victory-highway-relay-v2v-2138892733 Hope this helps... 8)
  9. Routes are determined by the leg captains if I remember correctly. The overnight stops are pretty much the same city every year with maybe a hotel change once in a while. I know we usually stay at the Bear Valley Inn in Craig, Co. At least that's where we stayed the 2 years I rode the V2V. The individual legs are listed here in one or the posts under the V2V thread...
  10. Finally got some pics off my phone. Enjoy...
  11. Nice!!! Those V92s were/are some Good lookin' bikes!! We'll be seeing some newer models on this page soon!!! :tu
  12. Apparently no sand. When I got to Reno and received the bag with the Baton & SPOT tracker (which both Ed and I had problems with) there was no sand. There was an issue getting a VMC member leg 1 captain right up to the last minute so I'm guessing it wasn't given any thought...,
  13. Am I missing something? Last time I rode the V2V (2014) there was a poll on each leg page where we could indicate if we were riding 2 up or alone etc. I'm hoping to ride Carson City to Craig but I have no knowledge of those areas and my sense of direction will cause us to end up far from our desired stops.... I'm willing to help but trust me, you DO NOT want me leading the group
  14. Register @ eventzilla.com. Circus Circus is the hotel in Reno and the Hotel Nevada in Ely.
  15. So it now appears I'll take us from the Circus Circus in Reno (not Carson City) to Ely. Not a problem (until we have to make a turn... :? ). 8) I'll get us there, it may be a bit more scenic but we'll get there :y: :chpr :y:
