  2. Putting this on the calendar. Was there in 2013.
  3. Looks like it was a loose Positive cable. When I say loose I mean not much at all. Disconnected both cable. No corrosion. Cleaned terminals and cable surfaces with emory cloth. Battery has 12.55 volts Reinstalled cables. Started bike. Has 14.59 volts Took it for a ride and no error codes and the volt gauge is steady half way between 14 & 16. Should be good to go. :chpr
  4. Today I noticed an electrical issue. 2010 Cross Country, original battery. 32,000 miles Low RPM's the volt meter falls below 12. At highway speeds it fluctuates between 12 and 16. Used to stay at 15 and not vary. Sitting at a light the radio display goes off but the radio still plays. Hit the kill switch and the radio display says: MUTE Low Voltage Need new battery? Charging system issue?

  12. There are 2 screws under the display area. Below where the 2 blanks for the heated grips or aux. light switches are located.
  13. I am sure that you do need the sleeves. Ask the dealer for them off your old bike or to supply them to you. They should know better.
  14. I had the same question on my 2010 XC. Never got a definite answer. Could be something for the CB option? I could not find them on the wiring diagram either. Best thing to do is ask the dealer next time you are there.

  16. The high and low bulbs are both H11. You could get a Sylvania or PIAA, etc. to help but a lot of XC/XR riders are going the HID route. Here is a link from a fellow Vic rider. It seems that most are going with the H11 6000K setup. Some only do the low beam. I am going to change both. I would think that you will get flashed by oncoming traffic with your high beam on.   17. I would think you would need the headlight assembly, and the turn signals and the speedo setup. Not sure if the wiring harness connections would all be the same so it would be plug-n-play.
  18. Have you looked at the Tsukyu Jumbo Strong bags. Might be an option. http://www.tsukayu.com/LeatherSeries.htm Having only looked at the Cross Roads bags on the bike you may be able to make them work. They are not locking like the hard bags. Take a trip to the dealer and see if they have a set you can hold up to your bike and get some ideas.
  19. You need to remove the head light first. *Pry one edge of bezel from fairing then pull straight forward to release clips. DO NOT BEND OR ROTATE BEZEL DURING REMOVAL!!!! *Remove two upper screws and two lower screws. 5mm hex allen wrench. * Slide headlamp out of fairing. Disconnect two electrical connectors from backside of headlight housing. *ipod harness connectors are covered with black caps bundled on the left side. After connecting the harness you can fish it through the fairing and up under the tank. I did not raise the tank to do this. Use cable ties to secure the harness. Remove your seat and connect the extension and route over to the right saddle bag. There is a plug to remove and then run you harness in to the bag. When you put the headlight bezel back on snap the top clips in first and then the bottom clips in. Let me know if you have anymore questions. That will be $75. I accept paypal. JK. There is a link on the board somewhere for the factory service manual. Do a search and you can find the link. Hope this helps.
  20. If you are still having an issue with the relay it could be a faulty relay. Even if brand new. I ran in to this when installing a horn on another bike. Got another relay and problem solved. See if you can get a good BOSCH relay. Very common at most part stores. I had everything wired correctly but when the power was applied from the trigger wire there was no click of the relay for the main power through the relay. Just a thought.
  21. Try doing a search on the board. Type in O2 sensor . You will see many post about this There is a post that has the thread pitch of the hole for the sensors. If you remove them completely you should be able to get a plug at a local hardware store.   22. Check out www.motosens.com They offer very nice gauges and the sending unit installs in the oil drain plug location. This is on my list of add ons for my Cross Country. Hope this helps.
