  2. The dinner location for Grafton is: The Loading Dock 401 Front St. Grafton, IL 62037 Shooting for 6:30 arrival time
  3. I have talked with the leg 9 Captain about having dinner at the Grafton location or Fast Eddies in Alton and either location is ok with both of us. I agree that Fast Eddies will be busy on a Friday evening. I think we can set a meet-up location with the Leg 9 riders at the Grafton location and have dinner there or ride from there to Fast Eddies (group decision). I will look up the Grafton restaurant address and post it. Thanks, Rick McDonald (Mack)
  4. Leg 8 will depart from the Drury Inn in Overland Park K.S. Kickstands up at 9am. At this point in time there are only 3 riders, myself included, registered fo this leg. Open registation for this event has closed, however, new riders are welcome to join the ride but an RSVP to me would be greatly appreciated. I had Gene post the relevant information for accommodations at St. Louis and is the first post on this Leg's thread. I do not intend to supply an exact stop by stop itenerarry at this time. Individual interests, needs, as well as, weather or other conditions will be addressed prior to departure. I have fuel and breakstops planned but again this will be up for disscussion before departure as well. The general route will be to ride Hwy. 50 to Jefferson City where we will have lunch at Lutz BBQ. Central Dairy or The Museum of Missouri Military History are additional points of interest depending on group inerest and time constraints. From Jeff City we will take Hwy. 54 across the Missouri River and then follow Hwy. 94 along the river bluffs. We will either cross the Missouri River into Washington MO and continue traveling selected roads to the hotel where we will meet up with leg 9 riders for a TBA place to have dinner, or, travel to St. Charels via Hwy 94. If we take the St. Charles route we will need to take two ferries, the first crossing over the Missouri River and the second crossing over the Mississippi Into Illinois. We will ride Hwy. 100 "The River Road" through Grafton to a meetup destination with the Leg 9 riders. Besides our groups interest, as well as time constraints, I need to discuss this with the Leg 9 Captain. Any further information regarding the St. Charles route will be posted along with the selected dinning facility at a later time. Of course Murphy's Law and group intrest will dictate the choices made. I'm looking forward to a fun ride to the "Gateway" city!
  5. Sorry, disregard the Midland Railroad Hotel. Paul posted the hotel Information. Here is the Hotel info for the end of Leg 9: Comfort Suites 4755 Castleton Way, Castle Rock, CO, 80109, US Phone: (303) 814-9999
  6. LEG 8 KC TO WILSON KS Leg Capitan: Rick McDonald A.K.A (Mack) Member: VMC Gateway Victory Riders Sorry but at the present time I do not have the hotel or dinner locations for KC but I will post them shortly I hope. The planned ride to Wilson Kansas is as follows: Kickstands up at 9:15 from the yet to be announced KC location. A stop is planned to see the The Victory Eagle World War I Memorial. 1345 Jayhawk Blvd, Lawrence, KS 66045 We can also stop in Topeka to visit Gage Park Memorial. From Topeka we will take highway 4 and then catch 57 back up toward Junction City. There is a small cafe in both Alta Vista and Eskridge we can stop for lunch or we could continue to Abilene for gas and Lunch stop @ Abilene, KS – Ike’s Place Bar and Grill (85 miles; 1 hr 12 min from Gage Park) 100 NW 14th St., Abilene, KS 67410 (On Old U.S. 40). I didn't see a hotel designated for Leg 8,9 meet up so here is what I've found. The only hotel in Wilson is The Midland Railroad Hotel : http://midlandrailroadhotel.com/ I did a quick check on their rates and availability for 6/28. The rate is $89 with 8 rooms available. Please check the Leg 9 thread to see if the hotel information is correct.
  7. Sorry about the upside down pictures. I have no idea how that happened but I'm not going to waste my time figuring it out either!
  8. Just to let everyone know, if you book through the hotel you can cancel the reservation if you need to. When booking through online services you may not be able to cancel and could be charged the complete fee. Pay attention to the fine print if you book on line! Mack
  9. Hotel Information: Comfort Inn & Suites 7200 W. 107th St. Overland Park, KS 66212 Hotel number: 844-746-5588 ( room rates for 2 queen or 1 king are $124 + fees & taxes. All of the reservation providers have the rate at $95 for the same accommodations. 855-239-9246 is Hotels.com I believe. You can Google the Hotel and that should give you all the info you need. Free WiFi and cooked to order breakfast if that matters. This hotel is right of 435 & Metcalf but on the opposite side of the highway than the Pear Tree Inn we usually stay at. The Pear Tree Inn is now Drury Hotel and is under renovation although still operating. Drury is $149 so I didn't think making reservations there made much sense. The KC GPVR will be providing dinner at a resturaunt near by. More information still to come. See you soon, Mack. -----
  10. The Peach Tree Inn in KC hasb been demolished so I will update the accomodations for KC as soon as possible.
