OFFICIAL 2021 20th Annual VMC National Meet Thread
Hbpete replied to Sweet Pea's topic in VMC Annual National Meet
Hello VMC members, I would like to pass along some info for all of you riders in the Northeast who plan on attending the VMC National Meet in Las Vegas this September. I, and some other members are faced with the dilemma of how to get there and home in a reasonable amount of time and still have our bikes there to ride. There were lots of ideas floating in my head, but me and another member of my club were able to put together a program with Haulbikes.com to have our bikes shipped to Las Vegas and back at a very reasonable price and time frame, thus allowing us to fly there and back and still have our bikes there to ride. In order for that to happen, we need to fill their trailer with 25-27 bikes. If we don’t fill a trailer, the lead time on the outgoing an incoming transport is 3 weeks on both ends, thus losing our bikes for good riding at home for over a month and a half. If we are able to fill a trailer, the lead time is cut significantly, and they are able to pick them up 5 days before the rally, and have them back to us 5 days after the rally. In order for that to happen, we needed a centralized pick-up point for all the bikes. The plan is to have the bikes in Las Vegas for September 4th, so anyone planning on being there all week can have their bikes available. For those coming later, Haulbikes secured and insured depot is right in Las Vegas, and your bike would be available for pick up any time during their normal business hours that week. The info is as follows. Northeast pick up location on August 30th - Clifton Park, NY (20 miles north of Albany, NY) Rendezvous location in Las Vegas – Bikes would arrive at Haulbikes.com Las Vegas secured depot on September 4th, and need to be dropped back off for the return trip to the Northeast any day on or before September 12th. Northeast drop off location on September 17th would be the same location as pick up. Cost per bike would be as follows, based on how many bikes we are able to reserve to put in the trailer: 25 bikes - $875/bike 26 bikes - $850/bike 27 bikes - $825/bike I have already been asked by a few members if they can use the service for one way only. Given that we need to fill the trailer, the only way possible for that would be to pay for a round trip ship, or split it with someone else. If you want to do only one way, please contact me, and I will see if I can match you up with someone else looking to ship in the opposite direction from you, thus maintaining a full trailer. Please let me know if you have any interest in participating. It will be on a first come, first served basis. If there is enough interest in it, I will certainly see if we are able to do two trailers. If interested, I would need a non-refundable deposit of $400 to me on or before June 30th. In the event that we do not hit the 25 bike minimum, the deposit will be refunded. Any questions, please contact me on my cell at 516-987-4087 Thanks, Pete Schroeder President Adirondack Victory Riders peteflstc@gmail.com 516-987-4087- 76 replies

Hbpete replied to Hbpete's topic in VMC Annual National Meet
I don't know why that would happen. We only had one other similar complaint, and when they went back in to try it again, they had no problem. Please let me know if it continues to be a problem, we will get it handled. Thanks. -

That's not to say that you can't come to the Adirondacks and ride around and enjoy the area, heck, it's America! You're free to do what you want. The banquet is only one night. We will be holding other events and have entertainment throughout the weekend that you will need a registration wrist band in order to attend. Hello All, I would like to start off by introducing myself. My name is Pete Schroeder and I am the 2019 National Meet Chairman. I am relatively new to the VMC, having joined in August of 2016. I live in Upstate New York and am a member of the Adirondack Victory Riders. I have two Victory's, a 2013 High-Ball, my first Victory, and a 2013 Hard-Ball, thus my name on the VMC, Hbpete. I have attended one National Meet in Grayling, MI and one Regional Meet in Gorham, NH. I had a great time at both, and was very impressed with both meets. My chapter is hosting the VMC National Meet for 2019, and as a result of having submitted the proposal to the events committee, I have become the 2019 National Meet Chairman for the VMC as of January 1. I am hoping that this years National Meet will be one of the springboards desperately needed to get the VMC membership back on its feet. So why am I writing a post to all of you folks. Well, I would really like to be able to announce the location for the 2020 National Meet at the 2019 National Meet as it is supposed to be done. In order for that to happen, the Events Committee needs to have proposals submitted to them to review in order for a Chapter to be considered as host for the National Meet. I would like for anyone who might be interested in taking that on to get in touch with me, or anyone else on the Events Committee. The Events Committee Chairman is Chuck Miller. There are procedures in place in the bylaws of The VMC for proposal submittal that I don't want to bore anyone with here, but if you are interested, please contact me and I will let you know the procedures. As we get proposals, I will announce them on the VMC, so everyone knows who's proposed. Attached is a PDF of the proposal that I submitted to the events committee for this years National Meet, so you can see what is involved in putting together a proposal. Again, I am available to help anyone through the process who might be interested. I can tell you that through the planning process for this years meet, our chapter has really pulled together and become a even closer nit group of friends, not only through the planning of this meet, but through the planning of the 2014 National meet, which we also hosted. It is a time for your chapter to really bond and enjoy the benefits of the friendships formed and the rides taken. I am ready, willing and able to help anyone who might be interested in submitting a proposal with any questions, logistics or any of the other stuff involved with submitting a proposal might include.
