tomnkc
Nothing against the Dragon Riders but another East coast meet is disappointing. Edited September 17, 2019 by tomnkc

Tennessee is not the East Coast. Plus, if other areas want to host a meet, all that is needed is to work with the Events Committee to make their proposal in a proper and committed way. Unfortunately, to my knowledge we have not had any viable proposals from other areas lately.

gene hunt
I agree it's an issue but it cannot be solved by the BOD or Events Committee. We need to get some members/LCs willing to step forward to host a National Meet, how about Ozarks? - Gene Edited September 19, 2019 by gene hunt
tomnkc
I helped host a National in 2012 in Hot Springs and then in 2018 my LC proposed the National in Branson for 2019. Without beating a dead horse they apparently didn't think we were capable of doing so. The Events committee didn't care for our style and we grew to not care for theirs. My LC and I include myself are not interested in trying another proposal after the reception it got in 2018. We have one of the only active LC's in the SC region without our support I don't think there is enough structure to put together a National proposal for the Midwest. We have one of the only active LC's in the SC region without our support I don't think there is enough structure to put together a National proposal for the Midwest. It had nothing to do with the capability of the group to host the event. It also did not have anything to do with style. I have been on the Events Committee for several years at this point. The information provided in the proposal was incomplete. Several years of proposals were sent to your group to view so that you should be aware of the information that would be asked. We were just asking for additional information. The replies obviously had an unfortunate attitude. At that point multiple people on the Events Committee tried to reach out to have a call. We received no reply except that the group was no longer interested. I had an extended conversation with Lowel and Vivian while I was on the V2V. Unfortunately, there was a lot of miscommunication. It is unfortunate that the group would no longer be interested. It is also too bad you did not make this years event. You would have had a great time. A great group of VMC members attended. The feedback has been great so far. Jim
gene hunt
Back on subject It looks like it will be a great event assuming you like riding on great roads and scenery. - Gene
MCD
Well on a good note....I'm looking forward to the ride. Couldn't ask for a better group to lead rides in the great state of TN! Calendar blocked off.
tomnkc
No disrespect to this years meet. Our lack of attendance was primarily driven by the fact my wife is a teacher and time off in Sept. for her is difficult. I have enjoyed every VMC event I have ever attended and will continue to do so.

Did you call them? You have to talk directly to the hotel, not their call center. If it rings more than 3 times, hang up and try again.

Flood zones. Infrastructure of locality you plan to reside in. Access to Medical needs and food. First responders locality. Good Luck...
