Hbpete
Hello VMC members, I would like to pass along some info for all of you riders in the Northeast who plan on attending the VMC National Meet in Las Vegas this September. I, and some other members are faced with the dilemma of how to get there and home in a reasonable amount of time and still have our bikes there to ride. There were lots of ideas floating in my head, but me and another member of my club were able to put together a program with Haulbikes.com to have our bikes shipped to Las Vegas and back at a very reasonable price and time frame, thus allowing us to fly there and back and still have our bikes there to ride. In order for that to happen, we need to fill their trailer with 25-27 bikes. If we don’t fill a trailer, the lead time on the outgoing an incoming transport is 3 weeks on both ends, thus losing our bikes for good riding at home for over a month and a half. If we are able to fill a trailer, the lead time is cut significantly, and they are able to pick them up 5 days before the rally, and have them back to us 5 days after the rally. In order for that to happen, we needed a centralized pick-up point for all the bikes. The plan is to have the bikes in Las Vegas for September 4th, so anyone planning on being there all week can have their bikes available. For those coming later, Haulbikes secured and insured depot is right in Las Vegas, and your bike would be available for pick up any time during their normal business hours that week. The info is as follows. Northeast pick up location on August 30th - Clifton Park, NY (20 miles north of Albany, NY) Rendezvous location in Las Vegas – Bikes would arrive at Haulbikes.com Las Vegas secured depot on September 4th, and need to be dropped back off for the return trip to the Northeast any day on or before September 12th. Northeast drop off location on September 17th would be the same location as pick up. Cost per bike would be as follows, based on how many bikes we are able to reserve to put in the trailer: 25 bikes - $875/bike 26 bikes - $850/bike 27 bikes - $825/bike I have already been asked by a few members if they can use the service for one way only. Given that we need to fill the trailer, the only way possible for that would be to pay for a round trip ship, or split it with someone else. If you want to do only one way, please contact me, and I will see if I can match you up with someone else looking to ship in the opposite direction from you, thus maintaining a full trailer. Please let me know if you have any interest in participating. It will be on a first come, first served basis. If there is enough interest in it, I will certainly see if we are able to do two trailers. If interested, I would need a non-refundable deposit of $400 to me on or before June 30th. In the event that we do not hit the 25 bike minimum, the deposit will be refunded. Any questions, please contact me on my cell at 516-987-4087 Thanks, Pete Schroeder President Adirondack Victory Riders peteflstc@gmail.com 516-987-4087 Edited May 6, 2021 by Hbpete
