Preparing for the Victory Highway Relay 2022

Recommended Posts

Went to the Day's Inn Springville UT website.  V2V dates for UT is 7/1 check-in, 7/2 check-out.  Website showed no rooms available for the requested dates.  Are room being held for V2V?  If yes, we need to know this and reservations need to be made by calling hotel.  OR is there a code for the V2V to input so reservations can be made online?

There are NO rooms being held at the Springville UT Days Inn for the V2V , You will have to make a reservation for the evening of July 1st thru you're favorite booking website. You can book thru Wyndham Hotels website, Booking.com etc. they have double queen rooms and single King rooms available, there is also a Microtel in the same parking lot IF the Days Inn is not available.

It's a whole new world, and hotels in "popular tourist" locations, on "holiday" weekends are not interested in "blocking" rooms, they are selling all the nights they want, at rates of double what we are accustomed to paying!. they are mostly now using a "booking" company, it just adds another hurdle to the already difficult enough world of group travel!

I am sure that when the ride organizers have all their ducks on the pond, the list of "team" hotels, sign up for the event, shirts, etc. will all be available for every VMC member to sign up, ride, and find out first hand what a wonderful event this is.

The ride goes from one side of the country to the opposite coast, thru what is about as close to the a centerline as practical,, should be pretty easy for a vast number of members to enjoy part or all of this event, even during the work week, (remember those?!), you can ride out to the dinner and enjoy a meal and the excitement of meeting your VMC family.

I called yesterday and booked direct.  Guy was a bit of an idiot but I got my email confirmation so I’m good.

Yup, Got my room booked and confirmed, It was nutz trying to deal with the hotel, while I was on the phone with them, and they were having trouble! I jumped on Booking.com, booked my room, got a confirmation, and told the guy at the hotel forget it, I already have it done!!!! Now, as long as I don't get called in to work that week!!!!  ?

Yes, Gold Dust West is the stop in Carson City on July 3rd.

There is a separate thread for each night of the 13 leg relay.  Those threads have start and stop times as well as the suggested lodging for the evening.  Some legs even include a link for that evenings lodging if you choose to book direct.

We, (Bearcat & I) had no problems getting rooms booked at the Craig Quality Inn, Springville Days Inn, or the Jailhouse Casino/Hotel.  Is the Gold Dust West in Reno the stop om July 3rd?

Not sure what most of you all use for making your GPS maps, but I came across Basecamp somehow someway and like most, I was completely lost on how to even start. Well I as with many other people found this guys YouTube tutorials. If you do use basecamp regularly or not at all I would suggest watching his videos. This first one he generally explains how it works and he goes into much more detail in his other videos. Anyway, have a great night and day and give it a watch...
