How about sharing how many people came to the last few national events by milage. Say <500 500-1000 1000-1500 1500-2000 2000+ Just might tell you a lot about where to have the meets. Is it really a National meet or a regional meet if only a few are traveling a long way?

One of the reasons it rotates coasts/locations is to vary the distances and scenery. This gives most people the opportunity to attend at least every other or couple of years. I think that's part of the charm and the whole idea. I know that two years ago in Prescott we had riders from Massachusetts and one guy from England who was at this one again. At this year's event we had riders from all over the country (New York, Florida and many points in between). Not everyone can go every year. That is why we rotate and why there are other events throughout the year. Gives everyone the opportunity to pick and choose and have variety. JMHO

When I first saw the title of this thread I thought you were going to get all emo and have a breakdown, then I thought maybe you meant you had ridden on some dirt and a saddlebag fell off and your bike was broke. :bart

Back on topic we rode about 400 and 3800 round trip last two Nationals we attended. It will be a rare year we get to anything E of the Mississippi.

At the end of the day - someone still needs to step up and submit a proposal to Chuck Miller and begin the planning. For those that aren't sure who he is - he's the chariman of the events committee.

So all of you with hopes, wishes, dreams, wants, opinions.....put them into action and start planning the 2014 National Meet!!! (after you submit and get your prosposal approved)

I have been to all of them, but living in the Midwest may have made it a little easier to make all of them. Lewiston was the farthest at 1800 miles one way and Prescott was 1750 miles one way. You pick the location and the date and those that can make show up. There is no way to please everyone. Just get on your bike and ride :chpr

Just to give you an idea of trying to "centralize" the meet, Rugby, North Dakota in considered the geographical centre of North America. I rode through there on the way to the AVR this year. So if you were to try to get something set up kind of middle of the road, someplace south of but generally in line of there would be ideal for trying to get riders equal distance from both coasts.

By the way, I rode 1300 miles one way to the National meet this year.
