Okay, I have looked all over here and probably looked right at it and didn't see it - BUT I can't find any concise information about the meet other than all of this previous back and forth over when and where it was announced and the official logo on the home page. WHERE IS THE INFORMATION ABOUT CONTACTING EMBASSY SUITES TO MAKE RESERVATIONS AND WHAT CODE DO WE NEED TO USE TO GET OUR REDUCED RATE? (What is it anyway?) Thank yeeeeewww! :jstr

When the hand-cranked Confederate submarine H.L. Hunley torpedoed the mighty USS Housatonic in Charleston Harbor on February 17, 1864, it didn’t change the course of the Civil War, but by becoming the first combat submarine to sink an enemy warship, it altered naval warfare forever.

When you attend this year’s VMC National Meet & Ride, plan on visiting this GEM of our country’s history where she is berthed and on display at the Warren Lasch Conservation Center aboard the old Charleston Naval Station! For more information, visit the Hunley at http://www.hunley.org/

Great news from the 2017 VMC National Meet & Ride. Old Charleston Walking Tours has given us a discounted group rate for their Charleston Ghost Walk on Saturday night, August 5th, 2017. The group is limited to 40 people and only cost $20.00 dollars per person. We would like to gauge interest and get a head count of everyone interested, as soon as possible. Fees to be paid the night of the Ghost Walk. If interested, reply to this post and we will reserve a spot for you!!

Is there an agenda of events for the meet yet? I am trying to finalize plans and making The Meet part of a larger 14 day adventure, and I don't think I can swing all 3 days, but still want to attend and pick the "best" days for me. I am leaning towards getting in Friday and leaving Sunday, but could change if events dictate.

I looked at the registration site for the event and didn't see anything about specifics.

GREAT Meet, glad I was there, hats off to Vohn and his team for a job well done. Nora and I enjoyed it very much. And I'm glad that I finally got to meet so many fellow VMC members, make some new friends, and see some old friends.

Chuck and Jim glad we got to chat about some things.

Craig it was nice meeting you finally, so much better than email and phone calls, you have been a great Captain of this ship, smooth sailing through the rough waters into calmer seas, we all owe you and the board a ton of Thanks for all you've done.

I'm so glad to be a member of this club, we've got something special.

- Gene
