V2VX!!

Well it's that time again - time to start thinking about what legs of the Victory Highway you are going to be riding this year. It should be bigger and better than ever being the 10th annual Victory Highway Relay.

Pretty friggin unbelievable eh? 10th annual?

I'll be your Jayhawker Leg Captain from KC to Wilson this year and instead of being 'the guy' for the V2V, I've asked several folks to share the responsibilities this time to make it a better experience than ever. So we've got Patti, Fishwitch, Ross and Big Bob all sharing the load to make this year really great - please give them all the cooperation you have given me over the years and this year will be mind blowing. So still feel free to think of me as the go to guy, but don't be surprised when a 'go to' team member hits you back instead of me.

For all you new folks - you have GOT to check out the V2V - I just posted a little history of the V2V and what it's all about in the Events section - go check it out and start making your plans.

See you on the Victory Highway!

Hey Shakey, I hope you can make it too! We'll never forget the MITM either, that's for sure - and neither will our neighbors. How long has it been and when we meet people on our road we haven't met before, they always say- oh, the bikers! Maybe that's not ONLY because of the MITM, but that always comes up. Hey, you live in a town of only 3500 folks and that's how you are known from then on.

Thanks Kozy - I have tried really hard to point out that it has always been the great leg captains that have made the Victory Highway Relay so good - not me. It's also what I tried to do when we first started this club - get people smarter than me and use them as a human shield :)

Hey Roadrunner! Now you know what to put in the "Bag". A Jar of Mississippi Mud!

Hopefully you won't have to be on Storm Watch this year!!! Or any of us for that matter!!!

On last years Oakland to Reno leg, we encounter horrendous thunder & lightening storms which ended up setting almost all of Northern California on fire. Although we didn't know it at the time, I ended up riding thru the fire zone daily getting to & from work.

Good thing the Vicsters are a tuff bunch!!! :bm I refuse to let it rain on my parade!!! :dp

I have also noticed little or no info on a few of the legs. If the Leg Captains could please update it would be appreciated.

ALSO!! I would like to put together an actual route map this year according to each leg that is downloadable to all members. I have Mapsource from Garmin. If you only have a Google Map I can transfer it into another file as well as link the Google.

This being the 10th Anniversary of the V2V, I'm working on a few other goodies!

There are a lot of Vintage V2V items available at the The VMC Store.

Shirts & pins will be available soon. I'll post when they are. This year they will be available thru The VMC Store! Super easy!

V2V X shirts and pins will be here soon!!! Keep your eyes peeled. They will be sold thru the The VMC Store.

All the proceeds for the V2V shirts and pins will be going to Susan G. Komen for the TaTas and this year we are adding the Victory Junction Gang to our support list!

Also, there is a lot of old V2V memorabelia available!! Even if you weren't there, these are collectors items. If you were there, these are MUST HAVES.

Check out your local areas and get your resies in now!!

Anyone impacted by a change to Leg 8, check out the latest post in the Leg 8 thread in the Events/V2V thread. Basically, the change is the Western terminus.

Due to the closing of the Midland Hotel in Wilson, we are moving the Western end point of Leg 8 25 miles West to Russell, KS. This isn't huge, but it will help the longest leg a little bit.

Hotel name and details posted in the Leg 8 thread.

Hey everyone! Great news! Years ago we talked about tracking the riders of the V2V real time. Well technology has caught up to our dream and we will be doing that this year! So bookmark this link: www.Victory-Riders.com/track and go there starting 6/21 and see real time progress of the ride. It puts a line on a map with time stamps every 15 minutes or so. Extremely cool. In fact, Jedi Jeff Martini is testing it out right now tracking his current trip - so go ahead and click on the link to get a preview of what you will see for the V2V.

Thank you VERY MUCH to Jeff and his Victory Riders Network for setting all this high tech tracking stuff up - and for providing the tracking device. What an awesome and welcome addition!!

Thank you again Miles and Jeff for providing the tracking device this year - that was so cool to watch! The Victory Riders Network is a good friend for sure - you guys are great. I can't wait to see the whole map put together. In addition to the Victory Riders Network, everyone owes a great big thank you to Patti, Tom, Ross and Fishwitch for their great coordination and running of the V2V this year. And as always - just like Kozy said - the Leg Captains are some keepers for sure!!! We couldn't do this without you guys. I hope everyone that rode this year had a great time - if you had half as good a time as I did, then it was a big success.
