soonerboy
This is my first V2V ride. I would be willing to help out in any possible, but don't think I should be a Leg Captain since this is my first ride. Look forward to seeing everybody out there. gene hunt
I'm in if I can arrange work schedule for the whole ride, otherwise just to lunch.
gene hunt
In looking at two legs from Stroudsburg to Uniontown I don't understand why we go to Annapolis? I'll take both legs but change the route to follow US40, National Highway, out of Baltimore like it was originally. - Gene
wvrider
Goooooood Eveninggggggggg VMC. I am going to be leg 3 captain. We will roll out of the Baltimore/Annapolis area in a timely fashion and have a great rain free ride. Sportsman Matt guarantee's it. I will try and make reservations at the same spot In Uniontown. It is a honor to be a part of this and I'll do my best. As soon as the 2nd stop is decided I will try and post up a itinerary

wvrider
Trying to plan a interesting ride, a couple years ago we stopped at the Flight 93 Memorial, is that something we want to again this year or wait a year or two before we revisit? xcbubbamom
Soooooo here are some photos that George (Tough Leather) said I could post here. As in Leg 2, I think these are Leg 3 but not sure. Either way, they are both from our great side of the country!
gene hunt
For the start of Leg 3, John (WVRider) and I had coordinated that I could get us started on this leg and then handoff to him with me departing the ride part of the way since I had to go to get back to work Wednesday. I had done quite a bit of research and explored the area and route previously. I bought a book on the National Road which proved to be extremely helpful. I had everyone sign it from legs 1-3 and I hope next year to make it on more legs and get more signatures. Anyway I had selected some good roads from the Hotel to get us to Ellicott City and near the start of the Old National Pike. Since I had only done the route once I made one minor mistake buy we still ended up getting into Ellicott City avoiding rush hour traffic, on a Tuesday morning, on some nice roads. Once there we parked in a lot on the west edge and walked down through the historic district to the old train depot and to see the mile markers that still exist along the Old National Pike which runs all the way to Cumberland, with some sections no longer in place due to US40 and I-68. We took some time to see the sights, the canal, old buildings etc.. We then began our trip west on the Old National Pike through Frederick, then into Hagerstown. I challenged myself to try and point out all the mile markers along the way that still exist, I think I got most of them. Rob found us a nice Mexican Restaurant for lunch in Hagerstown. After lunch John took the lead and I went to the back since I was only going to the west side of town and then heading south. I enjoyed the ride, the historic aspects, and riding with a great group of guys. I look forward to next year and plan to do more of the ride, 2 years ago I did the ride to Hebron before turning back, so need to go at least 2 more legs or maybe I’ll do the whole ride. The Kingpin is at 104K+ miles, so hope to get a Cross Country soon. I did get home without getting wet, which is pretty amazing since in my normal riding group I'm known as Chief Thundercloud, they even had a short made for me. More pictures attached. - Gene
cskiwild
We do not have a V2V Committee Chairman for the 2016 V2V. We need someone to step up to the plate and take the lead for this event or it will end. The V2V has been part of the VMC from the beginning! This is not an easy event to co-ordinte since it involve getting people to volunteer as leg captions for 14 legs to pass the baton from leg to leg. The Events Committee needs help to continue the tradition of support for our the V2V. If you are the person or persons that can meet this challenge contact me ASAP!
