The funniest thing about our leg was actually the day we rode our leg backwards to get to the hotel to ride it back forward the next day.

A little horse was playing with it's mom in a pen behind the restaurant we ate at. We got finished and were chilling in the parking lot watching the little guy and next thing we knew, he was in the parking lot with us and a mad mom still in the pen. In our efforts to put the little guy back in, we let mama out!! :n: But by we, I mean the cook at the restaurant. But he also knew to open the barn door and pretend like it was meal time - they both ran right in and the crisis was over.

Anyway - the opposite of that was going through Chapman and seeing the whole town wiped out except the limestone buildings on main street. Wild. You could see the swath of trees laying down coming in and going out - so amazing how easy it is to see the exact path of the tornado.

Other highlights were the group of folks waiting for us at Gage Park in Topeka - especially since one of them had just left Texas that morning to meet up with us! Very Cool.

We took a couple of pictures and here they are...

Leg 12 arrived in Annapolis about 5 o'clock.  We are meeting the riders for leg 13 at a local restaurant called Mikes in just a few minutes.  Great day for a long ride through the Eastern mountains on the best leg of the Victory Highway Relay.  Too bad there were so few of us, Three riders, three bikes, two of them were Victorys.  Pictures to follow.

Here are our pic's from the ride over to meet up with leg #9 to the start of leg #11. Check out the police escort in Indiana and the Proclamation from the Mayor of Hebron after the 307 mile leg#10.(longest leg?) We had a great time and can't wait till next year.

A copy of the proclamation is in the V2V bag. The Mayor new that we had a bag that traveled the route and wanted to make sure one went with the bag and he gave me a framed one for our local chapter. You can read it when you get it. The mayor also took us into council chambers for the presentation, and then he and his wife joined us for dinner at PaPA Boo's. One thing I found on the return ride of leg #11 is a "Madonna of the Trail" statue, just outside of Carmicheal, PA. Right on Rt40 and very visible as you ride by. If you haven't rode that part of Rt40 in eastern PA you should. Very nice ride.

Gotta give a plug for the Vision. If not for Rob and John being able to monitor weather radio, we probably would not have been able to stay as dry as we did.

Sure was nice seeing the sun on the last 2 days.

Coolest mods have to go to Luther and his Tour "Glide" Cruiser. It must be nice to have friends with CNC machines :)

Great riding with Rob, Sharon, Lester, Steph, and John from our COVR group and meeting up with everyone. After 5 days on the Vegas, that Penske shock Conquest sells is looking pretty good!

Looking forward to next year.
