  1. I am in the camp that would probably err on the side of caution and reschedule this for a later date. I know there has been a ton of work but to proceed in spite of a state recommendation seems unwise to me. Just my .02 and for the record we are not registered to go and our decision to not attend was directly related to what’s going on with this virus..
  2. You're take is lopsided Gene. Nobody is attacking the entire club. We were just very disappointed and insulted with the way our proposal was received and treated by the Events Committee. Go ahead and post whatever e-mail you have it;s all water under the bridge now. My main bitch at this point is/was the events committee's refusal to even acknowledge the fact our proposal was submitted and submitted on time unlike the Chapter that was awarded the meet. Their bias towards that Chapter was evident. The narrative that there were no other proposals for 2019 is simply not the truth and I am baffled why it continues. Chuck you and I have worked together on several small events with ease. But your refusal to acknowledge that the GPVR even submitted a proposal for the 2019 National (the only region that submitted a proposal on time by the way) has really ruffled some feathers here. Not to mention the fact the events committee ripped it to shreds insulting several members including myself. You submitted my proposal for the 2012 National as an example apparently that was acceptable then but our 2019 which contained similar details was garbage. I believe the 20 anniversary meet should be in the Midwest somewhere but getting support for that at this time may be difficult.

  4. No disrespect to this years meet. Our lack of attendance was primarily driven by the fact my wife is a teacher and time off in Sept. for her is difficult. I have enjoyed every VMC event I have ever attended and will continue to do so.
  5. I helped host a National in 2012 in Hot Springs and then in 2018 my LC proposed the National in Branson for 2019. Without beating a dead horse they apparently didn't think we were capable of doing so. The Events committee didn't care for our style and we grew to not care for theirs. My LC and I include myself are not interested in trying another proposal after the reception it got in 2018. We have one of the only active LC's in the SC region without our support I don't think there is enough structure to put together a National proposal for the Midwest.
  6. I'm aware. Eastern TN if you will. Still way far East for most of the country. Last 2 meets East of the Mississippi this will make the third
  7. Nothing against the Dragon Riders but another East coast meet is disappointing.
  8. I am curious as well to find out the attendance totals.
  9. Hey Lowell, Do you know what hotel they are staying in the St Lois area? Diane and I may ride out there with you and then back to KC.
  10. Was there any announcement at the meet last weekend as to where the 2017 will be held?
  11. It's being hosted by the Palmer Divide Victory Riders from Castle Rock, CO Thread is in the Clubhouse forum

  16. Thanks again to all the vendors and members who made this possible. Checks are being sent this week to Change Point in Hot Springs an organization that helps single Moms and their babies,as well as The Victory Junction Kids Camps. A total of $2,740.00 was raised for these charities with your help and support. Thanks again 2012 National Meet Commitee
  17. Here are some pics from the convention center and hotel. Road pics will have to come from others. Due to weather and meet duties this will go in the history books as the 1st meet I have attended that I rode less than 1 mile!!!!
  18. Get a cup of coffee or a cool drink this will take awhile…………….. Once again this weekend confirmed what I discovered 4 years ago. We have some great people in the VMC! Although the weather put a damper (pun intended) on a few things overall it was a great event and I believe everyone had a great time. It is always special to see old friends and make new ones. When I left KC on Thursday morning we had 155 registered. There were a couple of cancellations while I was on the road as well as about 30 people who never picked up their welcome bags. I assume they decided at the last minute to not make the trip due to weather or?? With a few walk-ins we ended up with about 130 total at the meet. Not the biggest attendance to date but a great turn-out nonetheless. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended for making this another great VMC event. I thought we were very fortunate to have Mark Blackwell from Victory Corporate to speak at Saturday night’s banquet. His passion for the brand is very evident. Thank you Mark for taking time from your family to speak at our event. I also want to thank everyone involved from the inception of the idea to the closing event yesterday. Rick, Bruce and Terry Thanks for your contributions to make this a successful event. Pastor1760 (Doug Gulley) for all your help. Doug was the local guy on the committee and handled everything with the hotel as well as the convention center amongst a bunch of other details Lt. Dan (Dan Walling) for helping me with registrations even though you had to ask me 3 times…lesson learned! Robruttus (Rob McCord) for helping me with the auction. Pushstart and lgjohnson ( Viv and Lowell Hardin…inside joke here) for making the bike show happen. In addition all sorts of folks who ask if they could help throughout the weekend. Last but by no means least, my wonderful wife Diane (drknkc) she was never an “official” committee member but without her help there and at home I would have been in trouble. As well as keeping track of all the registrations thru PayPal she designed and drew the logo for meet. Thank you honey!! I also want to take a minute to speak about the vendors who attended the event. Scott from Conquest Customs, Jon and his wife from Witchdoctor, Rylan from the Vic Shop, and Kyle and Alex from KMC Motorsports. Thank you for being there. You guys are not just “vendors” there to peddle your wares or services. My experience this weekend showed me each of you is extremely passionate about the Victory brand and what you contribute to that brand and its owners. All you guys are awesome. I also want to thank and will name in another post all the vendors and members who contributed to the Auction. The final numbers are not in yet as I have a few items that were not bid on at the auction that I will try and sell here on the forums but we will have raised somewhere in the vicinity of $2000 for The Ouachita Children’s Fund and the Victory Junction Kids Camps. Total monies raised will be split 50/50 between the 2 organizations. Thanks to the Events committee and Board to allow us to do this. There is no doubt in my mind that the group that has assembled to put together the 2013 Meet will do a great job. I congratulate you and offer any insight I might be able to provide. Thanks to Greg Cowan for making the trip to do the presentation at the banquet. Cool stuff! From what little I know about the area it is breathtaking and I hope Diane and I can be there not only for the riding but more importantly to spend some more time with some great people. After attending events like this I always feel that I am extremely blessed and fortunate to have these opportunities as part of my world. I’m sure it’s time to refill the coffee cup or refresh the cool beverage so I will wrap it up for now. Once again Thanks to everyone that attended and who helped make this a great success. Tom Keller and the 2012 National commitee
  19. Up to this point i have been able to accomadate the few who have had to cancel for various reasons. As of Tuesday 08-28-12 I have to commit to the hotel for meals at that point we will be obligated to pay for that many meals regardless of wether we use that amount or not.Since most of the registration money is to cover meals there will be no refunds issued after 08-28-12. I can still take last minute registrations but the Hotel will only increase my meal count not decrease it. See you all there
  20. It will be posted later this week. We have a couple of last minute details to work out. Here is the Cliff notes version. Ride Eat Refresh Ride Eat Refresh Sleep Repeat the above
