  1. I am in the camp that would probably err on the side of caution and reschedule this for a later date. I know there has been a ton of work but to proceed in spite of a state recommendation seems unwise to me. Just my .02 and for the record we are not registered to go and our decision to not attend was directly related to what’s going on with this virus..
  2. Check exhaust connections for tightness and then possibly replace exhaust gaskets. Most of the early Freedom motor backfire problems were exhaust related.
  3. You're take is lopsided Gene. Nobody is attacking the entire club. We were just very disappointed and insulted with the way our proposal was received and treated by the Events Committee. Go ahead and post whatever e-mail you have it;s all water under the bridge now. My main bitch at this point is/was the events committee's refusal to even acknowledge the fact our proposal was submitted and submitted on time unlike the Chapter that was awarded the meet. Their bias towards that Chapter was evident. The narrative that there were no other proposals for 2019 is simply not the truth and I am baffled why it continues. Chuck you and I have worked together on several small events with ease. But your refusal to acknowledge that the GPVR even submitted a proposal for the 2019 National (the only region that submitted a proposal on time by the way) has really ruffled some feathers here. Not to mention the fact the events committee ripped it to shreds insulting several members including myself. You submitted my proposal for the 2012 National as an example apparently that was acceptable then but our 2019 which contained similar details was garbage. I believe the 20 anniversary meet should be in the Midwest somewhere but getting support for that at this time may be difficult.

  5. No disrespect to this years meet. Our lack of attendance was primarily driven by the fact my wife is a teacher and time off in Sept. for her is difficult. I have enjoyed every VMC event I have ever attended and will continue to do so.
  6. I helped host a National in 2012 in Hot Springs and then in 2018 my LC proposed the National in Branson for 2019. Without beating a dead horse they apparently didn't think we were capable of doing so. The Events committee didn't care for our style and we grew to not care for theirs. My LC and I include myself are not interested in trying another proposal after the reception it got in 2018. We have one of the only active LC's in the SC region without our support I don't think there is enough structure to put together a National proposal for the Midwest.
  7. I'm aware. Eastern TN if you will. Still way far East for most of the country. Last 2 meets East of the Mississippi this will make the third
  8. Nothing against the Dragon Riders but another East coast meet is disappointing.
  9. I am curious as well to find out the attendance totals.
  10. Hey Lowell, Do you know what hotel they are staying in the St Lois area? Diane and I may ride out there with you and then back to KC.
  11. TPS has to be adjusted by the dealer using Digital Wrench. Sucks but that is the way it is.
  12. I posted a question or 2 the other day in regards to the front suspension on my 2003 Touring Cruiser. In my subsequent research it looks like that in 2004 when Victory "upgraded' the suspension on the TC the changes that were made to the front were as follows. Longer springs, shorter spacers and more fork oil. The rest of the set -up/parts are the same as the 2002/2003. I am thinking about getting the springs and spacers for the 2004 for my 2003. I am understanding a little more about how the front suspension works but could someone explain how the changes affect performance. Longer vs shorter springs more vs less fork oil. Thanks
  13. Maybe bad fuel? partially blocked injector. Might try some new fuel with some Seafoam added then go ride immediately for an hour or so the good stuff in Seafoam evaporates pretty quick so don't just add it then let it set.
  14. If it is not warped or scarred badly then the next step would be to measure the thickness it will have a wear limit, probably stamped on the the disc somewhere. If it is below the minimum thickness then time to replace otherwise should still be good to go. You can use 80 grit emery paper to deglaze it and it should be fine.
  15. If it were mine I would swap in a known good or new battery. Depending on the type of battery you have if it got waaaaay discharged it may have done permanent damage. AGM batteries especially do not like to be run way down. I killed one that was less than a year old when I left the key on my KLR. Never would fully charge after that.
  16. I can't help you but you could call either Rylan at the Vic Shop or KevinX at the Southern Motorworx. Either one can probably help you
  17. I would say you are on the right track with the battery. If it is original then it is 4 or5 years old and with the low mileage it has set quite a bit which can be hard on batteries if not left on a tender. If it were mine I would get a new battery and see if resolve the issue. My guess is it will. You might want to check all the battery and ground connections as well.
  18. The "tech experts" are hard to find here these days so you're stuck with me! Couple of questions> What type of battery is it? Was it fully charged when you put it in the bike? How old was the battery you replaced? Answer these and I will weigh in with my never to be humble opinion. Either way the battery should be under a full warranty if it won't take a charge at all
  19. Found what I needed. Thanks for the help
  20. Does anyone have an extra spacer that goes in the rear wheel. Looks like a piece of pipe with a hole in it. I don't need the o-ring just the spacer. The spacer is the same on all C-bike rear wheels for 2000 up to 2006. Victory part # is 5132314
  21. Was there any announcement at the meet last weekend as to where the 2017 will be held?
  22. Give us alittle more info. Is the noise heard while the bike is running in gear(s) or are you hearing it while turning by hand. Either way I suspect it is just normal play/lash in the drive system. Everything is probably OK.
  23. Does anyone know what size and where to get (besides Ma Vic) the 2 o-rings that go around the plug in the bottom of the tank of many of the earlier bikes? i swapped the fuel pump today on the TC and pinched one of the new ones putting it back together. I was able to reuse one of the old ones and all is good now but it would be nice to have some spares. I know there is an o-ring/washer kit available but I am just looking for some spare o-rings for the plug.
  24. or the fluid has gelled. Happened to a buddies KP a couple of weeks ago. DOT4 is supposed to be changed out every 3 years. It draws moisture and then will gel. Open the reservoir and check the fluid
