  1. What a wonderful way to help out our fellow residents on this planet we call home! My own chapter - Long River Riders - annually takes part in a "toy run" that has served as our final group ride every year before winter sets in ride. It is always a thrill and a joy to my heart to see so many people doing so much good. Kudos to you and yours!
  2. I am so proud that "my guys" - members of the Long River Riders - are finishing up this year's V2V. Well done everyone who brought that baton (and the sand!) from the West Coast to the East this year! Happy Independence Day! Victory forever!
  3. It's so great to see a good number of folks/bikes participating! GO GO GO V2Vers!
  4. What a great pic! Spot looks like our riders are somewhere in the middle of the States - keep those pictures coming folks!
  5. Although this is a good idea - we do not have the ability to post in all Facebook pages - we are not a "company" that has designated personnel to do these things - we can only hope that VMC members who are on these pages take the opportunity to promote their Club on these pages.
  6. Great pics folks! Keep em coming! Looks like the weather is treating you well!
  7. Awesome! Keep those pics coming and I LOVE those shirts!
  8. Just wondering Rick - (and hopefully!) Have you had success in getting participants for this leg? It's always a challenge so I hope you've been successful! As former participants that are now sidelined, both Arnold and I will be riding with you "in absentia". Keep the rubber on the road!
  9. BEST WISHES FOR SUCCESSFUL, SAFE AND FUN RIDES EVERYONE!
  10. THAT IS AN AWESOME DESIGN! I so wish we were taking part but not this year. We'll be sending good vibes for great weather with no stress for everyone participating! Looking forward to the pictures!
  11. Small correction - the sand jar (which began somewhere around 7-8 years ago) is emptied out at the end of each year's relay. This year, the sand will come from the Pacific side and be emptied into the Atlantic side - next year reversed, etc. Here's a pic of the jar as it was filled on a Rhode Island beach in anticipation of traveling across the US from 2015. The Long River Riders led the charge that year.
  12. Our European brothers and sisters are planning their very first "tour" this year! They've dubbed it V2E (Victory to Europe) and the planned start date is when ours ends - thus "keeping it going". Mark Vickers can give you more information on it. And they are having a second baton crafted I believe!
  13. Looks like we have a V2V! Congratulations and good riding!
  14. JUST WANT TO SEND MY GREETINGS TO EVERYONE WHO IS ATTENDING OUR 2020 NATIONAL RALLY AT JOHNSON CITY, TENNESSEE. ALTHOUGH ARNOLD AND I HAD PLANNED TO ATTEND BUT COVID CONCERNS (AS WE ARE IN A HIGH RISK CATEGORY) HAS KEPT US AWAY. OUR NATIONAL RALLIES ARE ALWAYS EXCEPTIONAL AND ENABLE EVERYONE TO GET TOGETHER WITH FRIENDS AND FELLOW RIDERS THAT, IN SOME CASES, THEY DON'T SEE THAT OFTEN, AS WELL AS ENJOY RIDING IN AREAS OF OUR COUNTRY THAT ARE ALWAYS MEMORABLE. HOW WE BOTH WISH WE COULD BE THERE WITH YOU! WE ALWAYS ENJOY SEEING ALL OF OUR FELLOW VMC MEMBERS AT THESE GET-TOGETHERS AND REALLY MISS NOT BEING ABLE TO THIS YEAR - BUT I'M SURE YOU ALL WILL CARRY ON AND HAVE A GREAT TIME! ENJOY! BE SAFE! HAVE FUN! AND WE'LL SEE YOU NEXT YEAR AT THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE VMC RALLY! CANDI CHRISTIANSEN NATIONAL SECRETARY
  15. Thank you for such an informative and forthcoming report Craig! It certainly is helpful to know "from the source" what the planning and precautions that are being taken . I feel very badly for all the hard work you all have done that probably will be somewhat negatively affected by this damn virus. As of now, we are in a hold pattern and will wait until the deadline of August 5 to make our final decision as probably are some others who were looking forward to this meet. Whatever we decide personally I certainly wish you all the best with safety and good health for all.
  16. My understanding is that the organizers of this rally have opted to move forward. I do hope and pray that those who attend are kept and remain safe and healthy and I wish for the organizers a successful rally.
  17. Hi there! Well - hubby and I signed on early for this one and the plan was to ride the BRP along with in and around Maggie Valley before heading over to Johnson City. Up to now, it appears that the organizers are full steam ahead with planning and preparation for our 2020 National Rally. However - this morning I hear that the Covid cases in Tennessee are rising dramatically and that the Governor has extended a State of Emergency Order through to August 29, part of which discourages gatherings of more than 50 people. I know that you folks have put in a lot of hard work and time in this event, and if I were in your shoes I certainly would not want to postpone or cancel. But safety should be paramount don't you think? What are the thoughts/leanings on this?
  18. Please make sure you let Amanda MacInnis know next year's plans so she can add the ride to our calendar!
